Our first chat on 30thAug. was not that bad :wink:

The first ques-MCC of dilated cadiomyopathy= i found IDIOPATHIC listed the first in etiologies in every book...u can refer p-386(CMDT-2004)

about chronic coronary artery disease..as the cause..i found some text from Harrison 15th ed.

*Diffuse myocardial fibrosis secondary to multiple myocardial scars produced by extensive coronary arterial narrowing and occlusion can impair left ventricular function and is frequently referred to as ischemic cardiomyopathy. This is a colloquial use of the term, however, and should be avoided; the term cardiomyopathy should be restricted to a condition primarily involving heart muscle. In so-called ischemic cardiomyopathy the primary involvement is of the coronary vessels.

Q-Antihypertensive drugs used in pregnancy=refer p-398 CMDT2004
Hydralazine and methyldopa ..are safely used.
labetelol and CCB are also found effective and safe.
ACE inhibitors and Ag2 blockers are CI -risk to fetus.
Diuetics maycause intravascular hypovolemia thus impair uterine blood flow.
BBare controversial.

Q-Membrane Stablising Activity of antihypertensives??

still searching for it...will post it as soon as i'll find.

See u all ...on thursday 9:00PM EST. =;

yep i agree with u noni......DCM , MCC is idiopathic...
though chronic ischaemia also causes systolic dyn function and dilated ventricles...this nomenclature is contraversial for it... smiling face ..good job..
