Well, I'm 26 years old right and I'll graduate from medical school when I'm 27-28. I'm actually at the upper limit of average age in my medical school right now. You remember that AMGs have to do an undergraduate degree before they can start medical school so most of us did a 4-5 year undergraduate course and started medical school at age 22-23. In my case, I started school at 24, will finish school at 28, and finish a residency anywhere from 31-33. Does it really matter? no I dont' think so. I can't imagine doing medical school before 20 years of age. I wouldn't have the motivation, perserverance, and dedication that I have to the field today. In fact, at 20 years old, all I was considering was should I go out get drunk with the boys, go out with my girl, or smoke some greens at home. I'm really happy with the way my life turned out. If I hadn't gone to medical school, I'd prolly be in some dead end lab position as a technition making 30K a year.....
Youth is in the mind. I still get carded to some R rated movies and def. when I'm buying alcohol! I'd much rather be an "old graduate" doing what I love the most "medicine" than being anything else in the world. If medicine is your true passion, than who cares at what age you practice. Plus older physicians get more repect and have greater patient compliance than younger physicians....right? remember behavioral science?

as i told yesterday.....i didnot do much yesterday...was just lazying around.but today i need to cover even yesterday's portion.so ALOT TO DO FOR TODAY. :evil: :x :shock:
tasks for today:-
*revise genetics once again(a quick revision...as i tend to forget the subject easily)
**start micro...SHOULD COMPLETE IT.
**if possible do all the drugs specially from FA.
*asusual goljan ----2hrs.
i think its too much for a just a single day...but whats wrong in aiming high.i will do as much as possible. :wink: :wink:

hello all
i need a help from all of you.please motivate me.i'm just not studying at this moment where i shud put the maximum affort.i'm just lazying around since 2 days.was browsing the forum a lot.i feel i'm lost.i dont have the interest to look into into the books.can you beleive i didnot turn a single page from my micro book.i just wasted my whole day.the same thing happened yesterday.nothing is in my control.i want to study a lot but i'm not doing so.
please freinds help me.
what shud i do??????please dont suggest me to take a break.i already wasted 2 days in the 14 days that i have.all these things are making me scarier!!!!!! :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :cry: :cry: :cry:

turn your computer off and don't go online for like 2 days. you better get your a** in gear and start up again. I don't care if ur burned out or feeling down. Your exam is coming up and there's no time for slacking now. I'm not even going to say sorry for coming down hard on you. There's no excuse for surfing the forum all day. Everyday of studying means maybe 2-3 more Qs right on the real thing, maybe it means, you won't forget 2 or 3 Qs you already knew previosly. I studied 14-16 hours everyday for 11 weeks. I'm going to stop replying to you if I don't hear that you've accomplished something in the next 24 hours.

I don't care much for those who are naturally gifted, born genious'. I'm def. not one of those and will never be. I taken many IQ tests and always find myself hovering around a notch (and its a small notch) above average. There's truly no excuse for laziness. Hard work and perseverence is the only thing I have going for me. You know what? If i had f***ed up this exam, the only thing I know that would get me over it would be the fact that I tried my damn hardest I ever had in my entire life and did all I could do to prepare for this test. If its not meant to be than its not meant to be, but Do NOT sell yourself short and NOT put in the effort and time when it really matters.

thanks for the moral support and encouragement.well ,now i'm back to the track....with my books.my studying is also going on well...but i wud say it as very slow.i'm not a fast reader from the beginningthough i shud speed up now.
i'm left with just 10 days!!!!from tomorrow all the days will be counted in single digits...THE REAL COUNT DOWN.

i dont know how to start this but i think this is going to be the last post in my dairy......yes i have decided to postpone my exam.When ????....i dont know ? ? roll .....i need to plan everything again after i come back to this country.yes i'm going to india on 14th May for about a period of 3-4 months..... lol lol lol
i'm not at all confident about writing my exam oops ....all my scores---kaplan and nbme just tell me that my preparation is not good oops .so i dont want to take a chance.i need some more time for my preparation. roll
i should sincerely thank everyone in this forum who has been a great support for me without whom i dont think i could have prepared anything ) D .all the knowledge i got regarding usmle was thru this forum and i had zero knowledge about usmle when i started my preparation....i mean regarding which books to follow and what not to.i just knew that there will be 3 steps which i shud get thru and kaplan will offer the coaching and PERIOD nothing else... P P

Did u guys hear ... Synergy, Saginaw Program Director got seriously reprimanded for biased conduct recently. She is South Indian and was complained by internal sources of promoting only south indians in the program. Word on street is that this year she will have hard time accomodating her family members and south indians will no more enjoy safe heaven at Saginaw IM program! ... I am completly devastated to hear this.
