"kiran" wrote:hello friends... another day lost in my schedule. ..somehow i'm not able to follow my scheduleand loosing everyday   ....i feel i should write down my schedule here so that i can stay focussed  . well i'm on the verge of completing my second reading with anatomy and beh sci left out.i know....it doesn't take much time to complete them but i lost my focus...now every other thing comes to my mind other than studying....  Hi Kiran, How are your studies going now? Is there anything in the back of your mind that is distracting you? Your mind knows much more than you think - not only the knowledge that you feed it, but also the things that you don't feed it..... Take some minutes out of your day to write down or at least recognize what those distracting thoughts are. Once you are able to put a label to what is distracting you, then you can push it aside and continue with productive studies. You are not alone in this. Remember how many ups and downs and non productive days I had during my studying process? Your strong words were right there to support me. I'll end this with a quote from one of your quotes in my diary - "Don't get deviated!" You can do it Kiran. I have faith in you. Love, pinkangel

Hi kiran, As u mentioned in your post that u went for vacation ...& really,it takes time to get back in routines after vacation...specially in study schedule...so, don't worry...you will pickup soon.Do some Qs...or checkout some X-Rays,CTs & Slides instead of theory revision to break the monotonous cycle.I am sure,u will soon come back in study mode with full strength.. P Keep Up.. niti

Hi Kiran Good to hear from you again, and sorry to hear about the lost days. With your determination and focus you can make them up soon though! I think niti's absolutely right that when things seem to be going slowly it really helps to mix up the studying. Maybe some path images will help refresh you before hitting the text again. Stay studious, Sis! Moc

hi pink, moc, niti thanks for all the word for me.my forum friends are really great.it is such a good place to share ur thoughts...both the happy one and sorrows. i dont th9ink i cud have studied anything without this froum and forum mates. well yesterday was also not a productive day....but much better than the previous.....wish i get into the track soon.actually today is the last day of my second reading....but i'm still left with anatomy and beh sci. hello shriniwas....i dont think i can answer all of ur Questions as i'm yet to go thru all those processes. coming to the first question...ITS DEFINETLY possible...the one needed are strength and detrmination. time to study daily ...it depends on how you read, whether you are a slow reader or fast reader.there are people who study for more than 12 hrs a day and also ,3 hrs a day. coming to expenditure...it may cost you around 3000$for the exams and well regarding the material you can either borrow from anyof ur friends.if you are in india the ka[plan coaching costs you nearly Rs.50000.travelling...i dont think i can you a better answer. i have a friend of mine who got 99 in both steps .most of my friends i know got >95. well shriniwas can i ask you one Q...why do you need all these information...i mean my friends score,etc....i dont think they will be of any help to you. hope i helped you.

Please understand that RETENTION is everything. Please do NOT overestimate your retention but do NOT underestimate it either. After every one of these "concepts" and after EVERY single fact you read, "ASK yourself...what did I just read? Can I explain it to myself and others?" If you are simply reading and NOT retaining, you are learning but you will not be able to answer the USMLE questions. For example, you may understand a dx located on a specific chromosome number, but unless you repeat it to yourself often enough, you will not be able to answer the specific question on the USMLE. Love, Tommy.

Hi Kiran, Anatomy is an unpleasant topic - so many details to memorize! Please do not get discouraged - 55% for the beginning of your studies is not bad. My score in Qbank during my first week of study for anatomy was a pathetic 42%. :? Keep up your studies - you will see a huge improvement with time. :P Love, pinkangel
