Here is a question,
During MI the oxygen supply to an area of the heart is dramatically reduced, forcing the cardiac myocytes to switch to anaerobic metabolism.Under these conditions, which of the following enzymes would

be activated,by increasing intracellular amp?
succinate dehydrogenase
phosphofructokinase1
glucokinase
pdh
lactate dehydrogenase

PFK1 is an enzyme where the control can be influienced by AMP.......though in anerobic resp. LDH is active but to the best of my knowledge its not affected by AMP

Thanx for your reply.Ialso thought that in anaerobic glycolysis it is the ldh that is active, but the ans given is pfk1,maybe as u said bcos it is affected by amp

The answer is PFK-1. It is due to the accumulation of AMP.
