Assuming a pt visit his physician because of an STD infection he got while on a business trip. If the pt's wife calls the physician inquiring if her husband has STD, what shld the physician do? a. Advice the wife to see her gynecologist. b. Tell the wife that her husband has std c. Get autorization from the pt before discussing with the wife d. Tell her everything will be fine.

The answer is C without an iota of doubt. The physician cannot disclose the patient's details without authorization. If however the STD is a reportable disease, physician must inform the requisite authority.
