Give anti-Rh0(D) IgG to a Rh(d) pregnant woman immediately after she gave her first Rh(D) child. She got second pregnancy after 3 years, she was found having anti-Rh0(D) Ab in her serum, what is the mechanism?

a. Anamnetic production of maternal anti-Rho(D)

b. intrauterine transplacental fetal-maternal hemorrages during the second pregnancy

c. Residula circulating prophylactic anti-Rho

Tranplacental passage of fetal IgG anti-Rho(D) antibodies

My slightly educated guess is the one that would be answer-d

sorry, I can't follow you. We know fetal never produce IgG, only Ig M. So choice D seems impossible. Yes, I missed the part, her anti-Rh0 is supposed to be during the third trimester. Could you please explain why during late, you choose C? Thanks

sorry i messed it up while typing. actually i wanted to say that if it is early during pregnacy, it would be C and if late as u have now told that its 3rd trimester, i would go for B. sorry for the typo

Thanks!

I think you are right, B may be the best choice for the later pregnancy.

But I don't think "Residula circulating prophylactic anti-Rho " choice C is the answer for the early stage. Bcs I don't think it can last more than 3 yrs, general it lasts 1 month if I am not wrong.

Anyway, thank all for your helpful response
