a G2P1, had her first child born with down's syn, she is now 8/40 pregnant with her second baby, and wants to check her present pregnancy for down's syn. WOF is the Safest and Most Accurate method
a. USG of the nuchal fold at 11 wks
b. CVS at 11 wks
c. amniocentesis at 18 wks
d. maternal triple or quadruple test (AFP, oestriol, Beta HCG) at 16 wks
e. Cord blood sampling

Amniocentesis is the most safest and diagnostic

i thought it was C
since triple marker detects 60% of trisomy 21 and its the safest among the given sad

triple test is a screening method, it is not diagnostic

Agian bad question as USG of the nuchal fold at 11 wks is safest but not the most accurate CVS at 11 wks is the most accurate one.
I will go for USG first and if see any reason for futher invetigation them will go CVS at 11 wks which is quit safe now a days.
