hi guys,
please help me in taking a decision.i'm thru my webprep course.i'm reading the notes i got with the course.and i'm planning to get the BSS stuff and Q-bank of kaplan.is this sufficient.i was told to stick to the min possible books.but people in this forums talk about other sources like FA,high yield,BRS.......etc.i 'm cofused whether to buy all those stuff or not.are the books that i got with the webprep sufficient?i've another doubt ....are these books different from those of the centre prep.?
jsmart,BM,josh,ahdy2000........anyone please help me....i'm confused.

i believe it's your prerogative. first aid is more like a summary of all kaplan books combined. you won't be able to understand a thing if you study first aid alone. it's more like an outline. i believe that kaplan books are sufficient enough, since you are already using them. i got first aid at the start of my review so that i will have just one book to look at during the last few days of my exam. that's why i do annotations during webprep and qbank explanations in my first aid. since you've been using kaplan books, i presume you've been annotating them for quick reference? if you want a one book outline, you can get first aid.
the other books you've mentioned i believe are covered well by kaplan books except for pathology. that's why a lot of people here have been recommending goljan audio and brs patho.
don't be overwhelmed by the large volume of references available. it's best to master a minimum set of books rather than spread yourself thin through all of them.

thanks a million BM for ur reply.i was really confused.though i want to stick to kaplan i get tensed up by seeing all these references in hese forums.thanks a lot once again for ur reply. 
i more thing BM ...if i'm troubling yoiu ...are the webprep books diff from centreprep books? :?:

Dont worry...stick to whatever material you have.
I will say kaplan books are really good.Once you will be done with the qbank and go over it again,you will find them more better.
Even i think ,kaplan is not sufficient for pathology,and pathology is a subject which will be there all over in the exam.So if you have ample of time ,try going through BRS or Goljan.But if you dont have suffiecient time,just do the goljan audio lectures well.
Kaplan material is proven best source till now for the medical graduates,so dont get confused.Just stick to it and master it!!!!!!
I dont have any idea about the differences in the webprep books and(center prep) lecture notes,but it seems they are same.Because for most of subjects they just read the notes .Only the home study programme books are a little different,i guess.All guessing.... :wink: ,i hope somebody will help you for sure and wont guess!!!!! :wink:

Relax as you will be able to do the exam and pass!
Like what other people have said , stick to Kaplan as they are very good materials.Make summaries as you read them and then you can buy FA as it's a must for step 1 prep.
Buy Q bank when u think u will b able to answer the qs
Listen to Goljan :icon_king: of Pathology
What else?- do nbme later (1 & 2 versions )
You will be ok and do not forget prayers

now i got an idea as to follow which books.as i've been told i'll stick to kaplan books and do the patho stuff from goljan.i've the audio lectures.
month before the exam i'll subscribe for Q-bank and bss.is this plan ok?

Yes it's ok and I would suggest to do nbme 1 month b4 the test and 1 week before the test as they are few qs(200 each) and you will know where you stand b4 the test.
