I have only 20 days for step 2 CK and my score's in kaplan q bank on average were 76% , Iam scoring 51-65% in USMLE WorldQ bank . I am getting nervous now .I started for step 2 prep in June .

Can anybody advice me whether Im ready to take exam or should i wait and study more.

Im working ( part time)and studying at the same time, so able to give 15 hours a day while not working and while working 6 hours a day.

Any suggestions for me ??

Thanks in advance.

What do u mean by USMLE Q bank is that NBME

  #3

I meant usmle world

  #4

I think u r ready for the exam now and good luck

  #5

JazakaAllah...thanks

  #6

re you ready, it depends:
1.WHat are you going to do for the last 20 days.
2. Scores look good. How many questions have you completed in each qbank to get these scores though?
3.What is your weakest area-do lots of questions in those.
Then you should be okay, but the real question is what you plan on doing for next 3 weeks????

hi ampicillin,

thanks for advice .you are right :?

I did kaplan q bank..1200 Q's ( 76% was my over all performance), NBME (one paper) , Doing NMS and also USMLE world ( did 10 blocks of 46
q's each and that was the score range)since past few days....I have to revise all subjects again :? ..i should do it .

Im going to take simulated exam on full length..that will give me a good idea where i stand  .
Thanks Again

76%in you rKaptest usually means u would get 90 atleast.Thats what people in my place think. And about 80-85%in the simulated test taken in the end means u may get a 99.Hope this helps.

Guys ,

One of my friend says i would be late for applying to programmes if i take it on 13 th september . Can anybody give me an idea about whether it is true ??

  #21

I think you could the test and prage that people from USMLE won't say latter that score report will be delayed. For people who take step 1 late may they could have scored by July 14th....

I think that most important point is that you feel so sure about your preparation, 6 months is so good. And my advice is that take NMBE(45$)

I am preparing for step 2 ck too and I am planning to take at the end of september.

Best luck

It depends what you mean about applying late. Officially, the earliest you can apply is early Sept. They say for IMGs you should apply as early as possible, but the cut offs for most programs are between Nov 15-Dec 31. So Figure 6 weeks to get scores back, the latest you should take step II would be first of Oct. In reality, scores usually come in 4 weeks. So you could try for mid Oct. The problem is, many programs want you to be certified (pass all exams and Step II CS and have the document from the ECFMG) before they will consider your application. This is esp true for the better programs. I have no idea how long it takes for ECFMG to certify you after you have passed all exams. Other programs don't care if you are not certified before they interview you. Even other programs will interview you with only your step I scores (esp if you did qutie well in Step I). So will you be late by taking the exam in early Sept? Not really. But that's assuming your step I and step II CS are already over. Even if you are late, you will get something if your scores are good and you don't want something too competitive. The problem is their interview slots fill up. I am in the same boat, will take step II in early Oct, step II CS in end of Sept. Have to hope for the best, or wait another year (and I DON'T want to do that!).

My plan is take step 2 Ck at the end of and Step 2 CS very early November.

What material are you covering now?
Best luck.
