Brain death criteria -deep coma with absent respirations(hence on ventilator) -R/O reversible causes of coma eg drug intoxication, hypothermia -absence of hypoglycemia , acidosis, and UE imbalance -unreactive pupil/absent corneal reflex -no vestibulo-ocular reflexes ( ice cold water in ext meatus) -no motor response -no gag reflex / no respiratory effort on stopping ventilator

I think in the choices they said gag reflex and cough reflex.. but didn't say absent.. so I am thinking it means they are present which means they are not compatible with brain death. hence the answer is given as "unresponsive pupils". AM I thinking right? please let me know since there are other questions seem to test COMPREHENSION as well as material on these tests.

Seems like the pupil should be the choice...but the other choices are badly worded..coz there is no info whether they are present or not.

Answer is E. Pupil unresponsive to light. VM ur right if the wordings just says gag reflex then it's understood as present. If not then the choice would say absent gag reflex.
