Ceftriaxone is now recommended as first line b/c of widespread resistance to penicillin and ampicillin.
This is for cervicitis, urethritis, rectitis, pharyngitis, as well as septicemia.
Alternates are cipro, ofloxacin, spectinomycin or cefixime.

oh, and N.meningitis=Neisseria meningitidis
Right???

also for N. Menangitis Ceftriaxim (3rd ceph.)is an excellent choice due to its excellent penetration through Menanges. ( although PC could also go through the INFLAMMED men. too). Chloramphenicol also is a good choice (high perm.)but due to its sever SE it is used as the last resort.
