Hey All I think what this boils down to is that we no longer can schedule our S2 far b4 our projected test date. Instead, we have to schedule our exam within a one month block. Hence, to take the exam in November, you need to register in November. If your date is not available, then you get rolled into the next month... ie. November examinees get rolled in to December. That was what I got out of it, but here is the letter. The ECFMG(r) Reporter An E-Newsletter for International Medical Graduates Pursuing Graduate Medical Education in the United States Issue Fifty-Eight - August 16, 2004 ********************************************** IN THIS ISSUE: - UPDATED INFORMATION ON SUSPENSION OF IMG SCHEDULING FOR STEP 2 CS AT PHILADELPHIA CSEC ********************************************** UPDATED INFORMATION ON SUSPENSION OF IMG SCHEDULING FOR STEP 2 CS AT PHILADELPHIA CSEC As previously published, a suspension in scheduling for Step 2 CS test dates at the Philadelphia Clinical Skills Evaluation Center (CSEC) is in place for international medical students/graduates (IMGs). Currently, this suspension applies to test dates in Philadelphia from September 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004. IMGs are able to schedule for available dates before and after this suspension period. Effective September 1, 2004, the test dates available to IMGs in Philadelphia will change from fixed dates to a rolling thirty-day period of dates. Beginning on September 1, and continuing on each subsequent day, IMGs can schedule testing appointments in Philadelphia during the following thirty calendar days. This means that on September 1, IMGs will be able to schedule testing appointments at the Philadelphia CSEC for any available date from September 2 through October 1. On September 2, IMGs will be able to schedule for any available date from September 3 through October 2. The thirty-day period of test dates available to IMGs will continue to advance, on a rolling basis as described above, through December 31. To view test dates available to IMGs in Philadelphia (and test dates available at other CSECs where scheduling is not restricted), IMGs registered for Step 2 CS should access Step 2 CS Scheduling on the ECFMG website at www.ecfmg.org. IMGs registered for Step 2 CS should review the full announcement on the suspension available on the ECFMG website at www.ecfmg.org/announce.htm#suspsched. We will continue to monitor scheduling patterns at all CSECs. Updated information will be posted to the ECFMG website as it becomes available. ********************************************* ABOUT THIS PUBLICATION As an organization, ECFMG is committed to providing information on issues of importance to international medical graduates. Yeah. as you know, they wanted to make step II CS in Phily more USMG than IMG. Looks like their plan of just blocking IMGs from going there isn't encouraging more US students to go there. So they faced with this backlog at other cetners, whith Philly wide open. So they still want to let more US students come, but they have decided if the spots are still there at the start of a month, IMGs can take them. As said, this is only for Philly and only for Step II CS
