THE FATHER OF AN 16 YEAR OLD BOY COMES TO THE EMG , COMPLAINING THAT HIS SON RETURN FROM A PARTY AND SINCE THEN HE IS DISORIENTED AND THRASHED HIS ROOM. HE IS HYPERVIGILANCE. PHISICAL EXAM PUPILS ARE MYDRIATIC, AND HAVE HTN.... HE APPEARS CATATONIC BUT ABRUPTLY BECOME ASSAULTIVE. HE MOST SUFFERING OVERDOSE FROM=??

A) COCAINE
B)ECTASY
C)PCP
D) LSD
E)METHAQUALONE

DOES THE CATATONIC SPACE HELPS IN THE DX OF COCAINE??? BECAUSE THE OTHER OPTIONS CAN PRESENT WITH THE SAME FEATURES ( HYPERACTIVE STATE) RIGHT??

WHY PCP?? I RATHER CHOOSE COCAINE, BECAUSE THE LACK OF OTHER FEATURES FROM PCP (NYSTAGMUS, SCHIZOPHRENIC LIKE SMX)???

That level of aggression, plus the fact that after appearing catatonic he became assaultive again.

PCP once metabolised and excreted via the hepatic route undergoes enterohepatic recirculation, causing symptoms to return after disappearing.

Thats my guess anyway

LSD is a hallucinogen which presents with hallucinations,synesthisias etc..,
PCP acts on Glutamate receptors and its axn are all the SE of Ketamine(Anger,combativeness etc..,)
