I have no experience at all about the ones you asked me.
I have a friend who is probably taking USMLE for 2004-2005, named Ruth. I dont know where she is, but I have her email: ruth_m_young@hotmail.com.
I hope its still active.
I am just re-evaluating my plan to take USMLE due to my PhD course in Japan. I am extremely busy lately, I dont think I can find enough time to review all the materials. If possible I would find some way around first (like taking some post-doc in US) before taking the board. But Really, having residency in US is my most desired dream.

Good to hear that you're in Japan now. What course are you taking there?
Is this Ruth wears jilbab? Coz I met a student from UGM, female, I can't remember her name, who was giving USMLE step 1 in Jakarta with me. And I lost her email too hehehe.
I'm waiting for my step 2 CS result and hoping to know some other indonesians who are in the same boat as I am. So far I only get one interview call from below average hospital in NY.
