if intracelluar AMP is increased what happens? I think the body will start breaking down collagen for energy, b/c gluconeogenesis requires energy, i dunno, can u help? i'll appreciate it.

i think u r talking about cAMP. if so then i wd say that its efffects are very variable and depend upon the tissue concerned. eg in heart it causes increased intracellular ca+2 leading to increased contractility, ,in blood vessels it causes vasodilatation etc etc.
if u r talking about AMP in fact, then i i will just tell general proncipal that it signals lack to ATP or in other words lack of energy and actvates all pathways reposible for generation of energy
