The answer is A Night episodic pain indicator of peptic/duodenal ulcer… A diagnosis of peptic ulcers can be suspected from the patient's medical history. However, the diagnosis should always be confirmed either by an upper intestinal Endoscopy (but not US), which allows direct examination of the ulcer or by a barium x-ray of the stomach. Endoscopy is indicated in patients with refractory symptoms or alarm symptoms. These include: - age < 60 - severe nausea or vomiting - weight loss - early satiety - evidence of GI bleeding - dysphagia or odynophygia in this question there is no mention of any of the alarm symptoms… Comments are welcomed.
