vibrio parahaemolyticus --associated with ingestion of raw sea food

No, vibrio is not an obligate anaerobe; if it was, we'd never isolate it from fecal cultures (which are always incubated under O2 conditions).

my answer- (vibrio parahaemolyticus) was for the question asked by mjl -- which vibrio is associated with ingestion of sushi ...? smiling face

Sushi is usually raw, right?

yes-- sushi is a kind of japanese food -- raw fish..

Vibrio is an aerobic gram negative coccobacillus. It grows aerobically quite readily on TCBS agar, which has a high bile salt content.
