That's a hard question to answer as different hospitals, programs and specialties have different criteria. What score will have you accepted into Family Practice, won't get you an interview in General Surgery.
What should be stressed is that you need to get the absolute highest score possible to ensure that you will interview and ultimately match in the best program for you.
The program that I work in has average USMLE scores in the 85-88 range (combine scores, then average). In the same hospital, the FP or surgery program will have different criteria.
Which is why my final word will be STUDY!!
