[color=darkblue]I'm also inspired by reading people's diaries. I'll sit for S1 in December 04, this is my second attempt. 17 weeks left :roll: . Here, outside the US, I'm working full-time as a physician, have a family, nobody around preparing for usmle, no chance to have a study group to keep motivated, so these forums are of great help for me. Diary is a great idea, hopefully this will help me this time and I will pass :wink: .
For the last few days, I read FA emb/gross anat, did Qbank emb/anat, MEPC anat qbook :65 embryo mcq.
Today: FA and HY neuroanat, Qbank neuroanat, Anat links of this site.

Still doing FA, HY neuroanat, Qbank neuro. Also listened to goljan audio 1,5 hr.
My Minimum daily study schedule:
06-07:00 :online.mcq,download,print,forum,etc.
at work : 2 hr review
22-00:00 :review mon-fri
weekend one day off, the other day 09-16:00review
I don't have kaplan notes, only got qbank.

welcome! It's very good to have a daily dairy of what you are doing as people will put feedback/inputs so as to inspire you.
Remember :Pray,aim high and stay focused ! You can do it.
Do as many Qs as you can , understand them.
keep on checking the WebPath for pics and u can also do some qs there .
I also suggest to do nbme 1 month before the test and 1 week before.
Good for you to listen to Golden lectures of Goljan.Repeat them in the end fo your studies..

Thanks for encouraging words josh2004. Unfortunately I'm moving slow. It took a week to read anatomy. I finished Anat(FA,QBANK,HY Neuroana)
goljan audio another 1,5 hr taking notes.
Started to go over "Step 1 content outline" from usmle.org. Checking the concepts as I finish them.
Started Bioche+ mlc bio for this week, then will see. It takes longer than I assumed, to finish chapters. See you later, wish all the best for you.

i think doing chs, then doing goljan to solidify is fantastic. but if you want to get it done fast, then just goljan. good luck and stay strong.

Hi
Just discovered this website today and I think it provides lot of insght and motivation. Especially for an IMG!!
I am due to take my exam in november 2004 although havent booked a date yet!
Have just started studying. Done Genetics pretest first two chapters and had a depressing score of 86 out of 127 qs. And also did a chapter out of embryology.
Today I had been reading theory and high yield facts from the first aid.

I feel responsible to this usmle community and feel sorry for not sending any posts for so long time. What did I did in this time? Dealt grandfamily affairs, changed workplace. Still planning to sit for step1 in december 04. Just listened and took my notes of 1/3 of goljan lectures. Need to study really effective in the remaining time=9 weeks. :? . I want to thank to all people motivating me in this forum. I'll try to keep in touch with this forum. Hope I can catch up my schedule.

Hello! IMG+Mom...I'm writing in Dec too...and unfortunately this is also my 2nd attempt. I am gonna do well this time, and so are u!! Of course there are a lot of family committments, jobs as well as kids, but u can do it. So many people have. I watched my husband..an int med resident...and i see how he makes the time to study....he takes the book where ever he goes...and he reads when ever he is waiting...for anything...including while waiting for his tea in the microwave!!! I realize how much we tend to waste time, and i'm gonna do what he does-take a book everywhere i go and just open it. Of course we cant read new material...but our eyes can always review and that does a lot for our brain. Hope this tip helps. Again...u r gonna do great and so am i!! So hang in there! I like ur daily diary idea. I started it ina notebook...just helps me keep track. Thanx for the idea. Keep in touch and good luck!

docmama loved ur idea of takin a book where ever u go , i think that the only way we can do this, i had totally given up on usmle , but every day im reminded how imp this is to do..... this will be my second attempt n now with 3 month old i really have to work it, and now that we r plannin to visit our family after 3 yrs i was scared of gettin totally out of touch woht my books which i know would be the worse thing to do.
so this is wat im thinkin and back me up if im right or worng or if u think i could or shoudl do more
ill start readin throught my books every day for atleast 3 hrs a day with one day break .... i havnt thought when ill be takin the exam but ill try not to make it later then dec this yr.
