Hi everybody:
I just payed the online part of the IWA for step 2 CS, but when I was looking the calendar of available dates I got terrified, cause the available dates are runing out, the earliest date is in november so I picked up that, but I have t send my form 183 and they have to check it up to, so i don't know if i will have a date at least in november , and i don't know even so, if I will be in time to apply for the 2005 match.

any advice would be great, or should I accept that I wont have time this year and I will have to wait for the 2006 match?.

thank you

Hey, don't give up.
They say until late Dec you are just fine to get your ECFMG certificate for the match.
Now you have to wait almost 3 weeks until they process your 183. Then try to schedule asap the earlier date you could get. Don't worry, you are gonna do fine.
Good luck

They are opening new spots all the time and you are gonna see new spots from people that are rescheduling since there is a reschedule fee waive.
Good luck

I was in a very similar position. There weren't a single date before January. I managed to secure a date a couple days ago in a month's time. Here's the plan:
Part A:
I put the CS calendar in my favorites. See the address below:
http://csess.ecfmg.org/calendarRO.asp
Then for a couple of days, I kept on checking and checking. When at home, I checked hourly. It's like a bidding on Ebay experience. Usually, days open up, and they are usually within a week. But scroll through the months at the same location. Let's say you see Atlanta. Today is Oct. 6. There's an opening in a couple days. Just scroll to the next month at the same location. This is how I found the November date.
Part B:
Start studying as if you're going to take it within two weeks. Be ready to take it as if you have a scheduled exam in a week or two. Get so ready like you can take it tomorrow. Pack a carry-on with your clothing & white coat & stet in advance. The likelihood of a day opening within a week period is much higher. When it opens, secure that date, jump on a plane and take it. I know this is a very high-strung and costly way, but to have it done, there's no other way.

Don't give up. If there's a will, there is a way.

I wish you all the luck.
