 Hi everyone!
What a great company! I was happy to see so many people responding from former ussr!
I am from Kishinev, Moldavia.
Finished all my steps except the 3rd one. Just got a prematch offer in Pediatrics. Starting residency in july of 2005.
To everyone who is just starting this challenging process: it is possible, believe in yourself and be dedicated. If I did it, anyone can do it.

Like you,I speak russian, hebrew and english. What part of Step 2 are you preparing of? Is it CS or CK? Let's keep in touch.

I am living in Iowa and I would like to start preparing for step 1.
Who could help me with advises or who in the beggining it? Where I could find books or disks ?
Is it possible to take these exams? I will be very happy to hear from anybody!

I think most of IMGs can pass the exams if they study hard enough. Be prepare to put social/family life aside for several years while you are preparing to the tests/going through residency. I know many Russians/Ukranians who passed the tests and found residency.

Upon arriving to US (2 years after graduation from medical school in Moscow) I was sure I would pass USMLE with no problems. I spent 6 months reading board review series on my own and went to take Step 1. Instead I failed with score of 168. Then I recognize how difficult the test was. I took Kaplan for 9 months and my next attempt was successful - 232/93.
