Nuprin--the original angel princess: :icon_queen: --much love back to you for remembering me in these anxious final hours. I have said prayers and have great expectations that you will be met with nothing but the success you royally deserve on the wards. And what better place to help others, and fulfill the loving helper that is so much of who you are?
To all my other special angels: josh2004, bm, mash, jsmart, psychdr2b, ahdy2000, docarjun, binz, kalsam, lmbebo, sheffield...and anyone I am sorry I didn't mention here: THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING YOU'VE DONE FOR ME IN PRAYER & SUPPORT. It's funny, but having our virtual connection and friendship has made a lot possible for me through having partners along for this lonely quest. I often think about who you are, and if that's you--sitting in the library studying again. Or if that IMG who I've always seen with the sad eyes and putting in the long hours day after day..could be you.? Wherever you are and doing what you do--I truly hope you'll always know you're not alone. I have said as much in prayer for all that I know struggle and ache through this unbelievable test of brains and wills...NEVER let them break yours. It will be enough when it is enough. Do not stop until then, only be satisfied with knowing you have learned as much new as you could with every passing day...Every day...
Ha! Look at me giving advice like I know something! :lol: :lol: Here's some good advice I once heard: beware of other peoples' advice!!! There's so much more I could say, but it's the 11th hour of my preparations--one last time to scan through my notes....
I will just say, I am very tired of studying. I know that. The last pass through NBME for just 4 blocks Sunday was exhausting. I will be very glad to get this test behind me. I just continue to hope that somehow, tomorrow somewhere in my head is all this stuff that I need to pass the damn USMLE, STEP 1.
I think this is a fitting end to this thread. I will come back to let you know my best advice for how to prep for this test--although what nuprin and ahdy2000 have already down is goljan--I mean golden!
And what a name for this test, after all. You work for so long and hard, and they only call it the "1st step"!!! Man! They should call it "USMLE, STEP BREAKTHROUGH" or "USMLE, STEP MI" or "USMLE, BIG BIG STEP")!! :wink:
N E WAY...I love this place for all the angels on it. Your warmth, your kindness, and your generosity of spirit light a hope in my heart for what my doctor-colleagues can be. You strike an important balance to all the pompous asses and malignant personalities I have unfortunately meant an overabundance of thus far on the way. Where are you on my daily wards--I need you! I trust you're just waiting in the wings as you've been...and when the time comes, you'll be there for the long haul as we leave our student days behind and join in the masses of practioners... Bless you all so that your own "Big Step" dreams come true. And as always, thank you for listening.
