If you get a pruritic vesicular rash from poison ivy, which cells/mediators will this involve

Abs, complement5-9
immune complexes, complement C5a, neutrophils
Cytotoxic T lymphocytes
IgE, mast cells, histamine, cytokines
Lymphocytes, cytokines, macrophages

this is called "Allergic Contact Dermatitis" which as everyone pointed out is a type IV HS. (diff. from ATOPIC DERMATITIS that is type I.)

are you sure you mean cd8+ - thats Tc's

i too thought i was delayed type reaction invoving cd4 cells. cd8 cells participate in tumor immunity, infected cell lysis and transplnat rejection etc etc

I think its Type 4 hypersensitivity which is a CMI.....so CD8/cytotoxic T cells

no, CD-8 cells also take part in type IV.
also CD-4 Th-1 as well as cytokines. but since i don't assume any role for Lymphocytes in the whole reaction i go for CD-8/Cytotoxic.
