hi everyone, if feels so different to write now, just 2 days before,i was posting questions, asking doubts, but now, here i am writing my exam experience,o.k,so like everyone, here's my story, until i found this forum,i was feeling very lonely, but after i became a participant of this forum,my whole attitude towards this forum changed, and i should mention that it was husband who was always there for me,encouraged me to become a member of this forum, although he is not in teh medical field,he helped me in every way he could.................. and so,i studied for 6 months,i used Kaplan notes,Goljan audio,Q bank,NBME.......... what i feel is although we go through a lot of questions,no similar questions r there in the exam,NBME is a little close, but USMLE is just different,u should know the concepts throrougly, and should be familiar with teh process of thinking, making ur way through the question to find the answer,Goljan, really helped me think,he is such a good teacher, all the concepts stay in ur memory, not only for the exam, but for future also. i'll try to write ab't individual subjects now.......... Anatomy- there were a lot of pictures, diagrams and gross specimen too, like everyone said,we have to be thorough in nueroanatomy.try to study with picture and diagram associations. Physilogy- it was good,i liked that subject always, there were only a few graphs.know the basics. bio chemistry- it was good, know the pathways, diagramatically, enzyme deficiencies. mol biology- this was where i has some questions of which i had no idea of. pathology- lot of questions, try to get a look at the hematology slides.hematology,i had a lot of questions. pharmacology- was ok,we have to know the drug interactions and the MOA of anti cancer and immunosupressant drugs. micro biology- was o.k,got to know how to idetify the organisms and how to treat, immulogy- was not that bad, know teh interleukins and immunodeficiencies well. beh science- a lot of doctor pt relationships,i dont think we can learn for it, know ab;t disoders, child devpt. i have just made a note fo how much i remember, hope it helps, once again,i want to thank everyone in this forum, for being there for me in times of need. take care and All the best.

hi dxpxtx, well,i personally feel that Kaplan and FA were enough for neuroanatomy, but i have heard from a lot of people that high yield is very helpful,if u have a time,u can make a go through high yield again, and make a note of important points to go trough during ur revision in the final 2 weeks, hope i helped.

Hi tasneem, We both have taken the exam by one day difference. How are you feeling about the exam? What are your plans about studying step 2. I want to buy step 2 material but unable to decide what to do......Do you have any suggestion? Good luck!

Thanks tasneem for your prompt reply. I hope we both will pass step one. How can we apply for 2005 match, we still have to take step 2 ck and cs, when does the application process start? I will be in touch with you and will email you. It would be great if we could apply for 2005 match. Stay in touch!
