Hi, I have recently started studying for the USMLE step 1, planning to take it in about two months. the First Aid for the USMLE has been recommended to me as a good textbook. However, after having studied the anatomy chpater and going over some questions I realized that it hardly includes all the material. Has any of you used that book? What's your opinion about it? I'm going over questions from the Appelton & Lange review book. I'd love to hear opinions about that one as well. Any other tips would be more than welcome! Thank you all, Noya

Hey Noya well, for anatomy the best bet is to use First Aid ALONGWITH a few other books. As for the A&L review , i dunno if it's the right book to be using at the start. I mean it's mostly review questions right? Anyway, i'd advise u get the "high yield" series for anatomy, they've gotten it broken down to gross, micro, embryo and neuro which helps out a lot. Apart from that, u can get the Kaplan lecture notes in book form, or as web prep lectures or videos ,whichever's most feasible for u Hope that helps u out Take care for now Allah haafiz for now

Hi Noya! My name is Eduardo, I've already took the usmle step 1 and also read the USMLE first aid. I think this is a good book to review the month before you take the exam, take in consideration that there are some questions that can be answered reading this book. Appleton & Lange series is a gook choice, althoug you have to consider that you don't have so much time to read them all. Hoping this was useful, good luck! :-)

I hvnt taken the exam, but I know for sure if u have only 2 month and u r IMG it is not a good option to start with A/L. In two month u might be able just to go through kaplan Qbank and NMS OR rapid review series by goljan and comming according to preferance by most of the people,
