This is no longer used as recommended by the FDA and the manufacturer shortly after 1993.

it was taken off the market in 95(was approved in 93) bcoz of aplastic anemia and acute hepatic failure
now it is used as monotherapy/adjunct fr lennox gastaut syndrome in children and seizures resistant to other anticonvulsants...

1)Mash be aware that [The Felbamate Study Group in Lennox Gastalt
Syndrome] was in 1993 and the drug was withdrawn as you say in 1995
by the FDA and the manufacturer.
2)Their are some overzealous lawyers out there who would love to jump on a potential malpractice case like this
3) Some doctors would say "why get into troulble" (concerning the aplastic anemia) and as you say the LFTs
4)Personally as a primary care physician I would probably refer these pts to the Neurologist and let him take on the risk involved with Felbamate.
(if the Neurologist believes the advantages outweigh the disadvantages)
