what happens to cerebral blood flow if pCO2 increases?i have my exam tomm guys, pls reply, thanks.

  #2

the CO2 is the vasodilatory metabolite that regulate the flow rate.
so if hypoventilation occur means CO2 increases that also increases the cerebral flow.
and if hyperventilation the CO2 will decrease and cerebral flow will be decrease.

thanx and good luck for exam.

All blood vessels dilate with inc co2 apart from lung which vasoconstrict.

agree but just to make a point that its not actually CO2 rather absence of O2 (hypoxia) that cause pulm vasocontriction
