Finally it did come after a full 26 days. USMLE world = 60-65%(most useful) Kaplan Qbank = 75- 80% Did Kaplan Qbook without counting how much I scored. Final step 1 score= 248(99) Thanks to everyone on this forum for all the advice and tips. First thing I would say is after the exam I was terribly scared that I had failed. The exam was tough. There were many questions of which I had absolutely no clue(especially cell and molecular biology for which I feel Kaplan is highly insufficient) and several other questions where i could reduce down to 2 choices but could not finalise between them.So for all of you who return from the exam miserable, don't worry the result will be better than expected. I do not agree any one particular subject is more important.I had lot of anatomy and cell and molecular on my exam while my husband had tons of immuno. USMLE world should be definately completed and difficult questions revised atleast one week before exam For those of you who have just started studying for step 1 I recommend that you go through tep 2 material also and then again do step 1 material thoroughly. In this way a few clinical questions which do come and are not covered in step 1 can be answered and then the preperation for step 2 can be done faster(I realised this because i am now studying or step 2 CK and that I could have answered atleast another 10 questions correctly if I had read this matter atleast once before) Thanks again and all he best to all.

UW average: somewhere between 65-68% i think NBME 1: 3 months out 209 NBME 2: 2 months out 214 NBME 3: 1 month out 228 NBME 4: 1 week out 232 Step 1 exam on March 13 Step 1 results on April 2 231/96 I have to be honest, the test was hard. I had lots of histo, a ton a pathophys, moderate amount of micro/immuno, minimal amount of pharm and everything else. I came out of the exam knowing I had passed, but I had no idea how well I had done. I would definately recommend taking the NBME's, they are a great assessment and they let you know the difficulty level of the real exam. My exam was similar in difficulty to NBME forms 3 and 4.

Step 1 score 4/11: 249/99 Q-bankscore/% complete: Don't remember. Did it a few months ago/~50 NBME 1/ time b4 exam: Didn't do NBME 2/ time b4 exam: 560/9 days USMLE CD/ time b4 exam: Didn't do Kaplan diagnostic: Didn't do Kaplan full length: Didn't do USMLE World question bank: 66%/100% complete I used this forum a lot. Thanks a bunch. I just wanted to share my experience here. For everyone...especially if you are about to or have JUST taken the test. You will almost surely feel AWFUL when you leave the test. I think it's designed to be that way. Don't worry! I thought I would feel great when I left since I was finished, but I felt bad. I thought I could have even failed the exam. It's pretty normal to feel this way. They want us to not know how we did. Anyway, good luck too all. You can do it. My main sources: Med school classes BRS physiology First Aid USMLE world (did all questions in the 3.5 weeks before the exam, and got through 2/3 of my wrong questions again) Goljan rapid review Goljan lectures (finished between 1/3 and 1/2).

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ exam date: April 30th score reported: May 21st prep time: 6 weeks kaplan + 2 months serious studying material: kaplan vids/ live lecture/ notes, goljan lectures (while following along with notes), personal notes from my UW incorrect answers USMLERx (completed one month before;mixed/timed)- 57% USMLEWorld (completed 1 day before;mixed/timed)- 55% USMLE CD: 40 (only did 1 test) NBME 2 (2 weeks prior): 198 didn't do: FA, kaplan Qbank, Qbook (few Qs here and there), kaplan simulated, RR actual score: 219 / 91 (Alhamdulillah) although not much of a participant, I found this forum extremely helpful. toward D-day, i found myself referring to this site in an almost OCD manner (which I don't recommend for anybody else.) sure, my score isn't stellar amidst all the 99's here, but it's a long way from the gross underpreparation of my medical school in addition to family life (being married n all). Once again, thanks to all in this forum for keepin hope alive.

wow, after all that work i got a 236/99 (taken on 5/9/08). i'm happy, probably could've squeezed a little more out of it, but it should be enough to take me where I want to go. I still don't get this 2 and 3 number score ridiculousness, they need to keep it simple, unless someone can explain the relevance of the 2 score in this day and age. Anyways, I used: -First Aid (This is really key, everything really is in there, keep REreading it) (Also note that some sections felt sorta lacking, such as GI pathology, Renal, etc., but overall it's a great resource) -Kaplan Qbank: 70% (This is important to to keep your mind active, I had difficulty just reading, so I had to switch it up a lot to stay focused) (also, from what I saw, USMLEW was good. If I had the time I would've done both) -Goljan (listened to about half the lectures, probably should have done it all) (He's money btw, only weakness I saw from what I did listen to was the white blood cell pathology) -BRS Biochem + Pharm, RR Microbiology, RR Pathology, HY Neuroanatomy (All to supplement First Aid) -Also, consider having a study group or partner. Basically people to be around that you can ask questions, be asked questions, keep to on track, and of course, provide support. Of course all this depends on how you study. This forum is great, I didn't really use it during studying, but I see how useful it can be.
