Step 1 Score 248/99 NBME 1: 590/238/96 NBME 2: 630/245/99 NBME 3: 630/245/99 NBME 4: 660/250/99 UMLE-CD: 41, 36, 39 Kaplan simulated Exam: 72% Kaplan Qbank: 72% (100%) in the beginning mid 60s, in the end 75-80% USMLERX Qmax-bank: 82% (100%) good and cheap Qbank Kaplan QBook: 70-80% except biochemistry and behavioral science --> mid 60s I learned for 4 months. the last 2 months full time. I used first aid and created my own "list with things i need to know" where I wrote everything down I couldnt remember. In the end I mainly learned from my list and the annotations I wrote down into my first aid book. I didnt use any secondary literature and I dont think you need it. Just try to make as much questions as possible. And try to learn something from them, not only look if you did right or wrong. Good luck

227/92 I felt horrible when I came out of the room thinking I failed the test. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out about the score. I plan to go into IM so this score is reasonably good. Here are some of my stats: Kaplan Qbank 69% did all questions Kaplan Qbook ave 70s not really keep track the scores NBME1: 480 (214) 2 months prior NBME2: 490 (216) 1 month prior NBME3: 550 (230) 2 weeks prior

Exam date: 08/07 NBME 1: 620 (2 months before) NBME 3:620 (Month before test) NBME 4: 560 ( Taken late at night..but still found this the hardest) Kaplan Qbank: 73% overall Step 1 :251/ 99 Thank you God!!! Old graduate. Used kaplan 2001 notes, online qbank, Goljan audios and his Rapid Review. Only Micro & Behavior from FA. Went over the whole FA once only b/c I had a partner. Otherwise I never felt comfortable with the book. Stuck to my own notes that I made from Kaplan books I want to thank my husband, he was my rock through it all. It would never have been possible without his support.I am thankful to so many people on this forum.I think there are so many inspiring stories to be found here. I gained both knowledege and courage whenever I visited. I think its possible. If I can do it everyone can, Goodluck guys.

216/88. A little bit lower than I expected, but it is quite good for me considering a full time job and old graduate Only got 2 weeks off to prepare full time before the real test. Q bank average 57%/100% finished (did only once) NBME form 1 1.5 month ago 430/ equals 201 NBME form 2 3 weeks ago 480/equals 214 NBME form 3 5 days ago 530/equals 226

Appeared in Step 1 exam on june 25th 2006 in Islamabad,Pakistan. usmle score : 215/ 87 online Qbank: 60% overall(i started very early in my prep and was scoring low, but i was consistently scoring 75% plus in the final blocks two weeks before exam..i had q bank for 3 months). Qbook: 80% plus on PathoPhys, 70% in the rest. USMLE CD: over all 72%. i studied for a year, full time, in dear ol CPSP library, Karachi. used all kaplan books except Patho (BRS). practiced alotta questions, repeatedly. i was hoping for a higher score , just like the rest of us, but lets face it. everybody studies for a 99, and not everyone gets a 99. i performed bad in Statistics and cuz it wasnt fresh enough on exam day. but i am going for internal med and hoping my score will get me there (i). i performed well in cardiovascular and genetics. biochem also. guys, study like your life depends on it. in the end its all worth it. there are so many high scorers on this thread, and they've shared alot of quality tips. i want to thank them all. get motivated and then REMAIN motivated. good luck to u all. my respects to everyone who forfeits his/her right to a laid back life, and studies for 11 hours a day for several MONTHS to get this done. regardless of your scores, you're all heroes. (but bear in mind, Program Directors arent looking for heroes, they're lookin for high scorers! and you WILL be one)

NIIIIIICE!!!, it's finally my turn, I've been waiting to write here for a long time. I love this thread, as it comforted me when I was in doubt of where I'd actually be on Step 1, according to others' scores. It's not a big score, just average, but I'm okay with that, it's just a test after all, right? So here we go... STEP 1 taken: Aug 24, 2006 STEP 1 reported: Sept 13, 2006 STEP 1 received: Sept 20, 2006 (which felt like forever, but mail sucks over here) STEP 1 score: 88/218 NBME form 2: 460 (taken 6 weeks before) NBME form 3: 500 (taken 4 weeks before) USMLE CD: 38/40/40 (3 months/ 1 month/ 2 days) Q-bank, ended up in the 70%-80% range avg. BSS (Board Simulator Series) books (did 3 out of the 5), 60-63% avg. Blackwells 350 Q test (http://www.lww.com/medstudent/usmle/), all in one setting, 2 months out. 73% I didn't sleep one wink the night before, but drank 4 Tab energy drinks throughout the day of the exam, and ate chocolate after every break. My exam was evenly distributed, I felt like it was probably an easier version, but maybe that's why my score isn't in the 90s. I was shooting for 90s, but I guess it didn't happen. I felt good coming out of the exam, I felt like I was in the 90s. Some people feel awful coming out, and still get 97/240. To get a hard version of the exam isn't always a bad thing. NBME's are the best predictors. You might hope for a miracle, but most likely it will hover right around your NBME. See ya in the Step 2 forum, best of luck to all you guys, this too will pass!!

Hello, I have never posted, but I know the site gave me the confidence to do well on the big day. The more scores once can compare to, the better one can assess their performance. 100% Kaplan Qbank completed at 65% 100 of First Aid Qbank completed at 75% (Started after Kaplan Qbank) In my opinion, the First Aid Qbank was more similar to the actual USMLE than Kaplan Qbank 7/5/06 NBME #3 = 440 (204) 7/10/06 CBT = 111/150 7/24/06 NBME #2 = 480 (214) 8/16/06 NBME #4 = 550 (230) USMLE Step 1 = 225/91
