Hi! I am an IMG from India. My husband is a citizen and I have applied for my greencard which I should be getting in 6 months or so. Currently I have a work permit(EAD). I have tried calling up different residency programs but no one has ever accepted a doctor in a pending status like me before, they have never heard of EAD, they say I need to have a greencard otherwise I can't apply. Is anyone out there in a situation like me or does anyone have any information about this. Please help me I am in a lot of tension.

When I applied for residency my green card was also pending. I only had a work permit and a pending I-485. All programs I had interviewed with wanted me to get a green card before the match. Fortunately my greencard was approved by the end of December, so I matched.

Hi Rachana! I am in the same situation as you are. I have applied for green card in June, but they told me it would take probably a year if not more. When did you apply for greencard? I didn't think untill now that having just a work permit would constitute a problem. I am so depressed right now. I don't know what to do. Anyway, thank you for this information.

Hi Mihaela,
I applied for my greencard last sept. I just got my interview invitation. I am hoping that I get it by the end of December.
