Liver glycogeno is used to maintain blood glucose during fasting or exercise.
Its breakdown is stimulated by glucagon and by epinephrine via a mechanism that involves cyclic adenosin monophosphate(cAMP)

Muscle glycogen is utilized to generate ATP for muscle contraction.
Epinephrine, via cAMP, stimulates muscle glycogen breakdown.
