Hi everyone, Im new here. Im IMG.
Ive been reading the advices and I think this web is one of the best thing that I found!
Now Im preparing for Step 2 CK, Im planning to do it on August 31.
But I want to match for 2005 and I don't know if I can :?
The Cs also Im going to do it on sept 18. Im trying to start applaying on OCtober but I heared that applaying late is almost imposible to get an interveiw. Is that true? and I dont have any letter of recomendation from a doctors in USA Do I really need it?
Also I did bad on step 1 but Im studing hard for step 2 to improve it, my score, Im using Kaplan's material and I did the Qbank already and I did bad too I got 63%. So Im planning to do USMLE world the next month before my test. Do you think I can improve my score doing that? or should I just read the material at least two more times? please help me! Im so confuse :| :!:

I am in same condition as u. My step 2 is on 23rd august and I scored 80 in step 1. My CS is on 5th october. We should not be much late for application considering we pass both of these hurdles :lol: All I am worrying abt less interview calls, if at all we will get.
I too dont have any recos from US Docs. With all these backdrops, we just need to put the stake and pray!! Lets hope we do good in step 2 atleast. I too am getting similar score in USMLEWORLD which is troubling me. I still need to do Kaplan's qbank. Hope that will be easier as ppl say.

hello i am alos preparing for step 2. i would suggest that since only 1 month is left u should do usmle world mcqs those are highly recommended. bcoz by doing mcqs u will get to know ur approach towards the qs and ur weak points aswell but one weak b4 the exam stop doing all the mcqs and revise what ever u have learned crush the board is a good last moment review book.
as far as the match is concerned u are not that late u can still take part in this match. get ur LORS and deans letter ready asap.

Thank u very much for your advices, Thanks doctorjha for your replay is good to know that Im not the only one doing this, sometimes you need to know that there are persons doing the same thing as you. And I know with faith and praying we can get some interviews :P
I heared that USMLEWORLD is harder than Qbank so I think you are doing pretty good! so good luck!
And also I want to thank you msashraf for your advice, Im goint to start doing USMLE WORLD :lol: right now! And I have one more q, when you are reviewing the question's explanations, Do u review every single one? or just the ones that you did wrong? Thank you one more time!

hello,
well when i review my mcqs i read the wrong as well as the correct ans explanation. the reason is that i get to know if the reason that i had in my mind for the ans to be correct is right or is there some other expalnaton for that . so in a way i double check my self and concept also bcomes clear. i suggest doing mcqs are the best way to prepare for exam.

OGWM, how long have you studied for step 2? I'm also in the same boat as you guys, and want to try for the 2005 match, but i'm probably quite a bit behind you guys. I'm hoping I can study like crazy and give the exam in early september....we'll see what happens, but there's comfort in knowing that others are in kinda the same situation. Good luck all!

Im studying for almost 4 months, but Im not ready.
USMLE WORLD according what I've heared is really a good resource. I will do it, but now Im just reviewing my notes because I didnt get a good score on Qbank.

jil.....i guess it depends.....I'm doing things a bit backwards and doing usmle q's before studying since I'm using them as a learning tool and I graduated last year so material is still pretty familiar...so I managed about 4 blocks of testing and then going through all of the explanations (both correct and incorrect questions) in a day. Hope to improve on that as I go further.

I advice you to take CCSA https://external1.nbme.org/nsasweb/servlet/mesa_m...
at least 3 weeks before your exam. I suppose it’s a good approximation of your future score. I took it yesterday. I feel better now.

dear friends
can anybody give me an advise when about cs and ck
do i have to register for both of them simultaneously?
how much time do i have between them?
i know that i should register when i am ready for ck
but which one first ck or cs?
or it doesnt mutter?
is there any material to study for cs or a course?
