Does anyone know about the Test Preparation Secrets Online Course for USMLE Step 1? I was just surfing the internet and found this site but don't know how trustful it is...it presents ideas and suppossed strategies that will make you kill the test....the course is around $100 so I would like to spend that kind of money for something that is not worth it or is just a scam.... Please anyone if you have heard or used it, let me know Jenn

I've not heard of the course but i have a small suggestion for u. Instead of finding new courses, i suggest you read what many who aced the test have been doing...this is a perfect forum for just that. You can interact with those who have made 99% on the exam and ask them how they prepared. I do admit there are some that are just geniuses but the majority are ordinary people who worked hard to achieve their goal. This is just a suggestion...anybody else???

I have read through the entire home page after doing a google search with your description. I won't post the link here because I think if anyone is curious about it, they will find it as I have. It does sound intriguing and almost worth it. However, I have to ask you very seriously Jenn (jdltati), since this is your only post, are you in any way affiliated with that website or webcourse? There is a lot of desperation associated with this exam and all the other exams we have to take. I am probably one of the most anxiety ridden people on this forum and I have a lot of reservations when something new is presented to me. Simultaneously, I feel that anything that helps like the way the TestPrepSecrets site proposes is something I would pursue further. AND THAT'S the catch isn't it. Desperate times require desperate measures or some such cliche. It's one of advertisings biggest weapons. Anyway, I will step down from my skeptical-on-all-things-to-good-to-be-true soap-box and offer this advice if you are just starting to prepare for step1: discuss with your colleagues that have passed and see how they prepared. You know your friends better than strangers. If you are anything like them, then modeling your studying patterns after them could really help. ALSO, the more you interact and read the posts on this forum (as I have) you will find "friends" or "familiars" that have similar study habits and you will see that they achieve the successful scores to go far in this prestigious career we all chose. I really do perfer the way docjes78 put it: i suggest you read what many who aced the test have been doing...this is a perfect forum for just that. You can interact with those who have made 99% on the exam and ask them how they prepared. Good luck Jenn and to everyone. Staying postive is of absolute importance on our psyche when preparing for this exam.

I am by NO means affiliated with that webcourse....I have been studying for the test for 2 months now and my test is in 1 week...I just happened to be surfing and especifically looking for Falcon Review (I have as of today heard about it for the first time) when I came upon the site I mentioned before as well as this one...that's why this was the first time you saw a message from me...I did not know about it before! As as you said, it looks like an extraordinary advertisement...that's why I asked here if anyone had heard about it! And just so you know, I am as skeptical as you are and won't like to be fooled (I was before with a known product that appears on TV) I have a study group and all of us have used Kaplan WebPrep and Q bank with the Clinical Vignettes (which by the way are REALLY GOOD!) as well as the UCV (though, selectively) and were planning on just taking one of the NBME exam.

I can understand where ur coming from...1 week before the exam ur probably wondering was ur preparation enough?!! Yes, dont worry...you even have a strong study group...which is one of the best methods of studying. So keep cool, and dont try anything new and drastic. Review FA and Q bank. U will do great. Good LUCK!!
