PROBLEM IN MY NAME

To BB
My name which ecfmg identifies me is Menar while in my pasport is Menare.These two words sound the same in my mother tongue and were being used alternatively.This is my midle name.I canot correct the name in my pasport bcause i am refugee.I can not correct the ecfmg letter because my academic documents are in such a way.I am afraid to go to us embasy with out resolving these two dicrepancies.What do you advise me?

Use both documents - write a letter to ECFMG and explain what is going on. Take the time to have the letter notarized and which name you would prefer to use. It's not uncommon.

Hi

In most immigration forms there are fields for other names used, especially useful in your situation. So the immigration does take that into consideration.
