Hi everybody! I am writing from the hotel in Atlanta, I have just taken the CS... Well, it was not really a difficult test, even for the IMG with some language difficulties (like me), but the way you manage your stress and nervousness during the exam plays a great part of the game. Some times the time is too short, many times you remember you forgot to ask something when you already left the room... The best advice i can give you is to practice, practice, and practice. I didn't have too much opportunity to practice, because now i'm living alone in a strange city where i don't know anybody, so i really had problems, specially with the first cases. After the first few cases i already felt into the game and things were smoother, but even feeling comfortable, i know i forgot to ask some key questions to some of the SPs. The other thing i want to share is the big problem that represents traveling to a city just for the exam. Because you depends on third persons. Yesterday i had one of the most terrible experiences in my whole life, when my flight that was supossed to be departing at 3:20 pm to arrive 8:30 to atlanta, began delaying, first to 4:50, then 5:30, then 6:30, and finally they canceled it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was very lucky because i could get the LAST seat on the next flight, after a compassive soul gave me her position in the stand-by list. So I advise to fly 2 or 3 days earlier if you had to. It will be a long and terrible time until i get the results... for third time! Bye and good luck

I didn't study too long, but the key of success here is the practice. I think it is enough with the "40 cases" (download it from this site), and practice that with another person, in real times, doing all (physical exam also). I'm still with a great amount of tension over me, because i didn't practice and in the first 3 patients or so, i couldn't finish everything, so i'm afraid i will fail on this test. Does somebody else can share experiences about the test?

I don't know if you are aware that it is prohibited to reproduce cases. I would be glad to help in anything else beyond that.

Yes, I stayed at Country Inn, very close to the test center. You have to call by phone to make the reservation and ask for the discount for the USMLE takers. It costed to me $90 (2 nights), and you can walk to the test center. Also they have a shuttle service from and to the airport. Good luck!!!!!!!

Another question rtcs....What time does the exam finish??? I have the morning slot.. they have asked me to report at 8am on 10th October... can I book a return flight for late evening of 10th october itself? If so.. around what time approximately will be safe to make it to the airport. Your answer will be greatly appreciated...

As far as I can remember, we were done at 3:30pm. There were 12 SPs and about 30 min each one, plus 2 breaks, one of 30 min and the other 15 min. And the test began at 9 am. So make your calculations.
