OK everyone, I have been so worried. Took the bloody test on 6/25 and OASIS reported the score today. Successfully registered for Step II CS (which it wouldn't let me do before), so I think that means I passed. Don't feel much better though. I had kind of forgotten about all this. Now I have to nervously wait for the mail to come.

i think i passed bc i didn't get a phone call from my dean (we're not allowed to start rotations until passing). now, the agony of waiting...

I know a girl in Texas who was allowed to start her clinicals before the school found out she failed. They yanked her in the middle of her core medicine rotation. That was rough!

I dont know how your online relationship is with everyone, but that is not a very nice thing to say...especially when there are so many waiting for their results (excluding me). I haven't put in much but as i see it, this forum seems to be supporting and encouraging everyone, not giving them nightmares. So please, in the future, do be sensible when posting your replies. I'm sure it would mean a lot to those who need a boost during these long terrible days while they wait. Please, if u cant say something nice, its better not to say anything at all. Thanx

Ouch! Many apologies to those scared by my crass statement. Perhaps you are right; I can see how that might cause worry, above and beyond the already enormous worry put out there by the exam. Will try and think about these things before I write any other anecdotes .... Please remember everyone, as FA says, statistics are in your favor. Chances are you will pass. Keep your goals in your mind and you can acheieve them!

Hi,
I don’t feel myself well . Today I get my score it is 64 and I failed.. I’m graduate from outside of America and I did take step 1 in the end of August. I want to try onemore time, would you please give me some information about how I can pass the exam?

I read High Yield series (pharmacology, biochemistry, Behavioral science), Clinical microbiology made ridiculously simple (medmaster), Clinical anatomy made ridiculously simple (medmaster), Step 1 first Aid, Kaplan Q book, USMLE simulated CD, and Kaplan webprep CD.

I really need your help. I’ll be appreciating if you give me more tricks or information for passing the exam.

Thank you

hELLO EVERYBODY.
I can only read one book for one topic.People in this forum suggest to read both kaplan and BRS for physiology .But I personally can not read two books,it takes too much time.I got to go with a single book.I want to go with kaplan for physio but people here keep saying BRS IS BETTER FOR ENDOCRIONOLOGY ,GIT AND NEURO.Would it be a mistake if i only read kaplan book?

I'm posting this for my bf who just got his score today (205/83) took the test on 9/8. Too bad we only found out about this forum after he took Step 1.

He is an IMG who graduated in 1999. Has done 2 years of residency, then only research since then. Took Step 1 after 1 month of low intensity prep 2-3 hrs/night, then 3 weeks of intense prep (7-8 hrs per day). Would not advise such a short prep. He did Kaplan Qbank (67%), USMLE practice CD (67%). Read FA, microbiology cards, Pharm cards, Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple is great, also read Medical Micro & Immuno (Appleton/Lange). Tried to read a biochem review book but gave up. His studying was based on my advice (I took the exam in 1994 - quite different, I think).

Actual Test: nothing like QBank, heavy on biochem, endocrine and physiology. Not at all clinical (lots of people told him it was). Not too much micro or pharm. He thought he failed it.

Crazy man is taking the CS later this month and Step 2 CK at the beginning of November. He is intent on participating in 2005 match.

Though the score is nothing to write home about, we're glad he passed!
