Do something else in here. In example, take time to start a program in public health Master level, because we are MD's some Universities wave the GRE requirement. Get involved in research. Go to conferences so you can network (it is easy, call universities, ask for CME courses , explain you do not want the credits but just to audit them, they hopefully give you passes for free). Go to classes you are interested in at the University, i.e. in Health Administration, related to latest Public Health problems, ANYTHING. Open your horizons. Apply to any society that you can, i.e. medical historical societies or anything you are accepted into (hopefully a society pertaining your areas of interest. The American Association of Public Health is one easier because they have interests in International health (you will need to pay fees many times). There activities out of the curriculum in the Universities that you can do after work hours or "lunch bag meetings" etc. Do thse things and you will start meeting people and new opportunities, Do not give up. Show involvement in the American culture, etc. This is our culture now, the mix that we help to make in this melting pot. I have a friend that did Kaplan again and again trying to raise scores before testing and then even after testing without passing. He followed my advise and enrolled at the School of public Health, got help from family and started with one credit, by the next term he had made friends who helped him apply to a research grant through the University and by this he worked 20 hours a week getting better pay than the pizza job he had before and was able to add this to his CV. With this he was also given free stipend to have a full load at school. In synthesis he finished his Master's put his residency on hold. After his Masters people liked him very much and sponsored his Visa. Was able to bring his wife and children here. Now I think he is PI of a research study and is trying to pass STEP III. Once he does this he will apply to Residency. With a strength in research plus a master's, that can beat MANY scores. AGREED? Do not give up! Find your own way...I have done SOOOO MANY THINGS, I am actually NOW giving up because after 2 years of residency I had to abandon the spot because I did not pass Step III. MY scores were 75 and 78, but I did 30 credits of an MPH, was not able to finish because I was offered a full time research position at a hospital. I then passed my tests in the summers, see I am a divorced mom of two kids, no family here, only responsible, raised my two kids plus worked, studied, etc. Now obviously, after all that I think my brain got damaged...I cannot even study... ONE LAST ADVISE? PASS STEP III before doing anything else, you will have more chances of being accepted and also, when the work is so much (sometimes working around 80 hours a week) you will be able to concentrate on you residency and NOT on the Step III. GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND!
