As my knowledge, The peptide formation by peptidyl transferase doesn't cost ATP or GTP, but in the Kaplan simulate test, One GTP is needed to form peptide bond Any one can help me ? Thank

actually the fact that it doesnt consume E doesnt mean that it comes for free !! if you remember from Kaplan, when AA-tRNA is Activating a high energy PPi bond is broken off (from an ATP yeilding AMP) which during peptide bond formation is used. now the "2" GTPs metioned in Kaplan is used for 1)AA-tRNA binding to the ribosome and )TRANSLOCATION from A site to P site. hope that helped.
